WCPL Webinar: Austen & Alibis
OnlineWake County Public Libraries offers this free virtual program as part of the celebration of Jane Austen's 250th birthday this year!
Jane Austen’s characters live on in author Tirzah Price’s mysteries for young adults (Pride and Premeditation, Sense and Second Degree Murder). In this webinar, Tirzah takes us inside the crimes and investigations of the 18th century and how they differ from today’s procedurals. The fascinating tidbits that she discovered while researching her Austen-inspired mysteries will shed light on how society both stifled and inspired the women of that time.

Virtual Q&A with Rebecca Romney - presented by Wake County Public Libraries
OnlineWake County Public Libraries offers this free virtual program as part of the celebration of Jane Austen's 250th birthday! I am especially excited for this event because I have heard good things about Jane Austen's Bookshelf by Rebecca Romney & I wanted to read it as a group in 2026.
For this event Romney will be in conversation with WCPL librarians about Jane Austen, Romney's work as a rare books dealer, and what it's like to talk books on a popular TV series. Patrons are also invited to submit questions for Romney before or during the event.
