We’ll take the 8:35 AM bus together to Okutama Lake (奥多摩湖). Please be on time!***
### 🚶♂️ Hike Overview
Route: Okutama Lake → Sasuzawa-yama → Mt. Sogaku → Mt. Gozen → Sakaibashi
Distance: ~9.5 km
Time: ~5.5–6 hours (including breaks)
Difficulty: Moderate (steep start, steady ridge, long descent)
Finish: Sakaibashi Bus Stop → Bus back to Okutama Station (~2:00 PM)

• Camp or rest overnight near Matsumoto***
📍 June 27 (Fri)**
• Morning: Hike Utsukushigahara Highlands (~6–7 km loop)
• Afternoon: Hike Mt. Tateshina (~5.5 km round trip / ~700m elevation gain)
• Camp near Yatsugatake area***
📍 June 28–29 (Sat–Sun)**
⛰️ Overnight hike to Mt. Akadake (2,899m)
• Ascend via Minotoguchi
• Stay overnight at Akadake Tenboso Mountain Hut
• Climb Mt.Akadake → Mt.Yokodake → Mt.Ioudake
• Optional onsen stop before heading back to Tokyo
• Reach back Tokyo on 29th Sun, 8PM***

- [Experienced hikers only] Mt.Yarigatake - July 10-13, 2025Shin Kiba Station, Tokyo
Get ready for an unforgettable journey to the majestic peak of Yarigatake (槍ヶ岳)! We're organizing a 3-day, 2-night (plus travel day) hiking trip from Tokyo, departing on the evening of Thursday, July 10th and returning Sunday, July 13th, 2025.
This is a challenging but incredibly rewarding trek, offering breathtaking alpine scenery and an unforgettable sense of accomplishment. We'll be traveling by car from Tokyo to the trailhead.
📍 Itinerary Highlights:
- Day 0 (July 10th, Thursday): Evening Departure & Overnight Near Matsumoto
- 6:30 PM: Depart from Shin-Kiba Station (Shin-Kiba, Tokyo) by car.
- Overnight stay at a campsite or hostel near Matsumoto to get an early start.
- Day 1 (July 11th, Friday): Into the Northern Alps
- 7:00 AM: Park the car at Sawando Parking.
- 8:30 AM: Arrive at Kamikochi Bus Terminal via bus.
- 12:00 PM: Lunch break at Yokoo Campsite.
- 1:00 PM: Continue our ascent from Yokoo.
- 2:30 PM: Arrive at Yarisawa Lodge (our accommodation for the night).
- Day 2 (July 12th, Saturday): Summit Day!
- 5:00 AM: Depart from Yarisawa Lodge for our summit push.
- 8:30 AM: Pass by Tengu Pond.
- 11:15 AM: Lunch break at Mt. Minamidake.
- 12:00 PM: Continue from Mt. Minamidake.
- 3:15 PM: Arrive at Yarigatake Sanso Hut (our accommodation just below the summit!).
- Day 3 (July 13th, Sunday): Descent & Return to Tokyo
- 5:30 AM: Begin our descent from Yarigatake Sanso Hut.
- 11:00 AM: Lunch break at Tokusawa Campsite.
- 11:40 AM: Continue descent from Tokusawa.
- 1:00 PM: Arrive back at Kamikochi Bus Terminal.
- 2:00 PM: Arrive back at Sawando Parking, pick up the car.
- 8:00 PM (Approx.): Arrive back at Shin-Kiba Station.
🚗 Transportation: We will be carpooling from Shin-Kiba Station. We'll split gas, tolls, and parking fees among the group.
🎒 What to Bring (Essential Gear):- Proper hiking boots (broken in!)
- Layered clothing suitable for mountain weather (temperatures can change rapidly)
- Waterproof jacket and pants
- Backpack (comfortable and large enough for 3 days of gear)
- Sleeping bag
- Headlamp with extra batteries
- First-aid kit
- Plenty of water and snacks
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
- Trekking poles (highly recommended)
- Cash (for hut stays, bus fare, emergencies)
- Important: This is a high-altitude hike. Please ensure you are fit and accustomed to sustained climbing.
Accommodation & How to Join:

- Book Your Huts: Once you have RSVP'd, it is essential that you book your own accommodation at the following huts:
- Yarisawa Lodge for July 11th, 2025
- Yarigatake Sanso Hut for July 12th, 2025

Cost: Costs will be approx ¥40,000/person include transportation (gas, tolls, parking), your mountain hut fees (approx. ¥10,000-¥13,000 per night, including dinner and breakfast), bus fare from Sawando to Kamikochi, and Day 0 accommodation. A detailed cost breakdown will be shared closer to the date based on confirmed participants.
Who Should Join: This hike is suitable for experienced hikers with good physical fitness. We will be covering significant elevation gain and distance each day. If you're new to multi-day hiking or high-altitude treks, please assess your fitness carefully.
