Calligraphy Workshop with Ren Yano

In this session, you will learn to make and use different sumi ink tones and brush techniques to create traditional Japanese calligraphy on washi paper.

You will express your words and emotions with brush pressure, rhythm, tones and confidence in your strokes.

Not only will you learn brush stroke techniques but also about the meaning of certain Japanese characters so you don’t need to know any Japanese to begin.

Learning calligraphy will help you gain important skills which promote concentration and relaxation.

After the class, Japanese tea and sweets will be served.

Cost : $40.00. Payment must be made prior to the workshop and includes all materials, Japanese tea and wagashi.

There is a maximum of 10 people per session.
