What we’re about
We are a women's social group for women over 40, who want to enjoy the many events & venues in Kansas City, with women friends of a similar age.
The Golden Rule is our basic tenet, "Treat others as you would like to be treated."
This womens group arose out of a post covid need to get out of the house & socialize, but turned into something much more. We have shared stories, traveled together, drank lots of wine & made lasting friendships. Many have joined & some have left. It was my pleasure & priveledge to take over as facilitator in Sept 2023.
I welcome you & encourage you to attend & create events!
This is your group.
Welcome!
Dee

You are welcome to join us for dinner if you can't make the program."Bestselling author and inclusive leadership expert Jennifer Brown discusses how to create belonging in our neighborhoods, friend groups, faith communities, schools, and city. Brown will address the now-contentious conversation surrounding DEI, offering a fresh and hopeful vision rooted in human connection. She unpacks the meaning of belonging, why it matters so deeply, how it shows up in daily life, and how Kansas Citians can lead with authenticity and inclusion, even in a changing landscape. This event is co-sponsored by: the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce."
Meet at the back of the room after the program - I will have a small sign that says "Meetup Group." We can walk over to the restaurant for a light bite after the program (Milwaukee Deli is one block away or there are other nearby options as well).
This program is cross-listed with the SOL (single "old" liberals) group for people 50+ - Academy Award winning film "Flow" @Trivoli (Nelson-Atkins) + early dinnerThe Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO
Flow is a 2024 animated film from Latvia that won both the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Animated Feature (it was also submitted, and accepted, to the Academy Awards as the International Feature film from Latvia). It has no dialogue and follows a cat trying to survive along with other animals in a seemingly post-apocalyptic world as the water level dramatically rises.
