What we’re about
You are cordially invited to Kilimanjaro/ Reston Walking Group to meet new friends, get fit, gain more energy, and maintain your healthy lifestyle. Fitness is easy if do with Friends, like us, who share similar fitness goals. Whether it's 3 miles in less than an hour or train to climb Kilimanjaro, (World's highest free-standing mountain); this is the group for you! The current Organizer successfully summited Kilimanjaro, elevation 19,341' and trained for 8 months with this 🚶♀️ Group.
We meet Saturday mornings at 10am, at Reston Container Store. Our walks take place rain/snow/shine, to walk circular route of 4 miles around Lake Anne. Our Walking group is friendly, share success stories, and encourages taking control of your fitness and balance lifestyle. Warmer months, we are able to enjoy the amazing Farmers Market located at the Lake Anne Plaza. At conclusion of walk, you're invited to join the Team for drinks or lunch at "Not Your Average Joe". We may also post other social events.
Group is open to all ages; every fitness level. Our challenge is for you to join us at annual Sierra Club's 50km/32 miles or 100km/64 miles One Day Hike on May 2025. All you need to bring is your walking shoes and any positive can-do attitude. Feel free to bring a friend and make sure to upload any pictures to #KiliWalkingGroup
