With the Forestry Reserves closed for the monsoon season, it becomes a bit harder to find interesting hiking venues. The border between Selangor and Negeri Sembilan near Broga remains a great area for outdoor activities.

We start the weekend with a relatively short hike to the Tarun Falls. Those who want can have lunch in Broga before heading to the campsite in Lenggeng.

The campsite is accessible by car and has more than the basic facilities: hot water, shower, toilet, sinks, access to kitchen and fridge in the communal area, campfire pit and access to a plug point in the communal area. There is also a small provision shop onsite.

The next day we will hike Bukit Gondol and Sam Hill. We like to refer to the event page for Sunday's event for further information. Do note that there is no space to park the car near the trailhead, so we park near the Sak Dato Temple in Broga and start with a short walk on the tarred road. Be prepared for at least two to three hours effective hiking.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a gps navigation app (like ~in alphabetical order~ AllTrails (paid version), Gaia, Hiiker, Komoot, Maps.me, OSMAnd, Wikiloc,...) installed on your phone and make sure that it is working properly. If you don't have an app installed yet, we suggest to use Hiiker to start with. Once you have downloaded the offline map of Malaysia, you can easily import and navigate any gpx file. More info can be found in the Knowledge Base sub Event Information (general) - How to prepare myself for navigation...?

Do not come to the venue if you have not pre-installed a gps navigation app at home, or have not downloaded the map of Malaysia at home, or have not opened the test gpx file at home. Every week, we notice that too many hikers arrive just before the event starts and are absolutely not prepared which is jeopardising the scheduled timing of the event. Especially iPone users are urged to make sure that they can open the test gpx file at home and are able to navigate.

These are self-guided hikes. You will receive a gpx file at the trailhead and you will have to navigate yourself. There will be no paper markers. For those who are not familiar with gps navigation, you will be guided but still have to use your own navigation app on your phone.

Do note that the indicated meet-up time is not the time you should arrive at the meet-up location. It is the time that the hike effectively starts.
