Yarn Highlight: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Aran Weight
Details
Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Aran Weight yarn sells well but I had never used it to make something. I decided now was a good time to try it. It is so soft. It’s pretty thick so my sweater is knitting up pretty quickly. I’m quite the slow knitter.
This is my first experience with top down sweater making so it’s really new to me. I must say that the yarn makes it a pleasure to knit.
Here is the description from their website:
“220 Superwash® Aran is a soft, worsted to Aran-gauge yarn. Available in a wide variety of rich colors, this 100% Superwash Merino Wool yarn offers great stitch definition and is ideal for cozy sweaters, hats, shawls, blankets, and more.”
I will bring a pattern for the plain top down sweater I’m making. It takes 5 or more skeins depending on your size. If you’d like to look up this pattern, it’s called Lesley. The yarn runs $13 each but for our group, we can discount it to a group price of $10 each when buying 5 or more or $13 each for a lower quantity.
If you are coming, please bring something to show off if you have or something to work on. But don’t worry. You can always start something new.
Also, I will bring some donation yarn in case any of you knit for charity. We will start a list of what charity our group members knit for. With your permission, I will write about it on my website so people from across the country may send knit donations as well.
If there is a plus one on my RSVP, it is a friend of mine who also was very close with my mother and is an excellent knitter. If more friends choose to join us, I will adjust my RSVP.
