Summer Break Announcement
The book club is taking a summer break in June and July — no formal book discussions during these months. BUT we might still host casual social events (picnics, drinks, or hangouts), so keep an eye out for announcements if you’d like to join us for relaxed summer fun!
Date: 27 August
Time: From 7:00 PM
Location: Közkincs Könyvtár
Books:- Moby-Dick or, The Whale by Herman Melville
→ A sweeping 19th-century classic about Captain Ahab’s obsessive hunt for the great white whale, blending adventure, philosophy, and deep reflections on human nature. - Severance by Ling Ma
→ A darkly funny, sharp novel about office life, globalization, and the collapse of society after a mysterious fever spreads — part apocalyptic fiction, part workplace satire.
The books can be found at the book club's page on Facebook.
Looking Ahead
Feel free to read either one (or both)! And as always, you don’t need to finish the books to join — just bring your curiosity and enjoy the conversation. - Moby-Dick or, The Whale by Herman Melville
