Note: This will be an in-person event!
Customer journey maps helps us get a holistic, big picture understanding of a user's journey through a problem, solution, and resolution. It goes beyond the interface to fully understand the motive and pain but journey maps can be a daunting task. Candra Gill will help teach us how to put together a customer journey map, what to include/exclude, how to get other stakeholders to collaborate on the map, and how to use it to tell the right story to make it as useful as possible to us as UXers.
To make this fun, we are gonna use characters from movies and map out their journey! Here is a list of movies we will work with -- you can pick one in advance and watch it before the workshop if you'd like!
Movies list:
Barbie: Barbie (Protagonist Barbie)
Matilda: Matilda
Moana: Moana
M3GAN: Gemma, M3GAN's inventor (note: this is a horror movie)
Spiderman Into the Spider-Verse: Miles Morales
Wicked: Elphaba
Things to watch out for:
What is the character trying to achieve throughout the film?
What steps do they take?
What happens to them?
What obstacles are in their paths and what are their successes?
What are they feeling at different points in the film?
