First Sunday Birding at Waneka/Greenlee

Details

The birds of summer are firmly entrenched at Waneka Lake by early July. Swainson's hawks are soaring high looking for rabbits and snakes to feed their growing family. Ospreys regularly visit the lake in July, grabbing the farm raised trout swimming near the surface in spectacular dives. A Sora , a small chicken like bird can often be heard calling from the Marsh. Several expert bird guides will be on hand to help . All are welcome to join us. We especially encourage beginners ,children and families.
