Details

Starting from High Bentham, situated south of Ingleton between the Lune Valley and the Yorkshire Dales, this walk goes west along the north bank of the river Wenning, past the Punch Bowl Inn in Low Bentham, out to nearby Robert Hall, then back down Eskew Lane and the south bank of the Wenning to the start point at Bentham Bridge – but there’s an extra couple of miles along the south and north bank of the river to the east of High Bentham before it concludes in the town.

The whole walk is mostly level and easy walking (up to 8 miles) along a picturesque river that’s often fast-flowing in the autumn and winter.

Parking is available in High Bentham’s town car park north of the main street or nearer the river if you can find a place in the street that leads down to it.

Please note that we restrict the number of places available to Meetup as, unlike other groups, we have a substantial number of Ramblers Members who also attend our walks and who are not required to book as attending the walk via this app.

The suggested donation for non-Ramblers members to £2 to cover meet-up costs. It is still excellent value for an organised walk, and day out with like-minded people.
