Join the Laveda Jones - Hip Hop Community and Progressive Front for an inspiring event that explores the intersection of music, human rights, and political activism. Through engaging discussions and interactive workshops, we will dive into the ways in which hip hop culture can be a powerful tool for driving social change and advocating for political progress. From the role of rap music in spreading awareness to the power of hip hop dance in mobilizing communities, this event will celebrate the impactful connection between art and activism.

Come together with fellow music enthusiasts, artists, and activists to learn, share ideas, and collaborate on ways to harness the influence of hip hop for positive social transformation. Whether you are a seasoned activist or simply passionate about music and politics, this event welcomes all who are eager to channel their creativity into meaningful change. Let's unite through the universal language of hip hop and work towards a more just and equitable society.

Background & Purpose

Laveda Jones—a conscious rapper and political scientist known for fusing activism and art—steers this festival through Laveda Jones Productions, the creative and organizing force behind the event. Jones has gained attention for his socially charged work, including his satirical book American History: Make America Great Again Edition, and his #RhymesForResistance campaign that amplifies protest through music and poetry EIN Presswire.

Aligned with the One Million Rising movement’s mission to build collective action through artistic expression, this festival transforms Perry Park into a stage for resistance, dialogue, and empowerment.

Location Context: Perry Park & Phoenix

Perry Park, located at 2700 N. 32nd Street, was revitalized earlier in 2025 through a grand reopening that enhanced its facilities and community potential Facebook. This makes it an ideal venue for large-scale gatherings that blend culture and advocacy. Phoenix—one of the nation’s fastest-growing cities—serves as a strategic platform, with its diverse community and civic relevance providing fertile ground for social mobilization and creative resistance.
