A Post Christmas Saunter south of Morley
Details
This is a Leeds CHA C walk and not strenuous.
Meet at Morley Town Hall LS27 9DY (ignore the map - I can't get rid of the map from my previous Meetup walk)
It is a circular walk of just under 6 miles and with a moderate amount of climbing. The route follows tracks, paths and back roads, and may be muddy in places. There are a couple of stiles.
The walk starts from and finishes at Morley Town Hall. Leaving the Town Hall we head South towards the bridge over the M62, via Dartmouth Park. We than go downhill through fields and woods aiming for Howley Mill near the Batley border. The route then follows first a back road then a series of paths up to the ruins of Howley Hall. Very little remains of this Jacobean mansion, but the views over towards Batley are extensive. Passing through the golf course, we return to the bridge over the motorway and return to Morley and the end of the walk.
This is a Leeds CHA walk, and there is no charge to attend the first three walks, but to attend further walks we request that you join our club for an annual membership of only £6.00. This will give you access to an unlimited number of walks, social events, coach trips, and weekends away, in line with our parent club Leeds CHA Rambling & Social Club. for further details follow the link on this website.
