Place: Garforth Main West train station LS25 1PY
There’s plenty of car parking spaces in the station car park, please park at the far end of the car park.

Ride Description:
We take the old rail track from Garforth to pick up the river at Allerton Bywater. We follow the river through Fairburn Ings, Ferrybridge and Knottingley, and up to the village of Beal, where we cross over the river and pass trough a couple of fields before we pick up a bridleway which takes us up to West Haddlesey. It is here that we follow the scenic canal up to Selby,it will be on this section that we will stop for a picnic lunch, so do not forget bring your grub.
After passing through Selby we take the old rail track which takes us up to York, where we will stop at one of the riverside inns for some well earned refreshments

Estimated Ride Duration: 6 hours
Ride Grading: Red this is mainly due to the distance
Technical / Physical Difficulty: Flat all the way, so very easy pedaling but a good level of fitness required due to the distance
Recommendations: Spare Tubes, Tools, Pump, Food, Water.
This is a lovely pleasant scenic route, which makes for a very good days riding.
As for the return :
Trains run regularly from York to Garforth & Leeds.
