Paddling at Cleary Lake Regional Park

Details
Let’s explore one of Minnesota’s lake by canoe, kayak or paddle board: Cleary Lake, a very scenic lake with bald eagles, egrets, turtles and many lily pads, where motorized boats aren‘t allowed.
Susan P. will be hosting this event.
It usually takes about 1.5 hours to paddle around the lake but she is allowing extra time for put in and planning on a slow trip so everyone stays together.
Paddling will actually begin around noon as we need about 30 minutes to drop our paddle crafts in the water and go park our cars.
Cleary Lake Regional Park is located at 18106 Texas Ave (AKA Hwy 27 or Dakota Av) in Prior Lake.
There is boat put-in where we can drive right up to the lake, put our canoes/kayaks/paddleboards in the lake and then move our cars to a parking area within walking distance. To reach the put-in area, follow the main road past the golf course and visitor center. Just past the visitor center is a road on the left marked “Campground, Boat Launch”. Follow that road a short distance and on the right you will come to a circle driveway that goes to the lake.
For folks who want to paddle with us but don’t have their paddle craft, the park has a canoe/kayak/paddle board RENTAL. Since we are paddling on a Sunday, it is advisable to reserve your watercraft ahead of time (watercraft can be reserved online up to seven days in advance). The park has online reservations:

To get to the boat rental building, instead of turning left at the campground/boat launch road, continue straight on the main road and you will see the boat rental building on the left. If you go too far, you will come to the end of the road and have to turn around.
Those of us with our own kayaks will put in and kayak the short distance to the boat rental building to meet the folks who are renting. Those of you that will be renting, please just wait in your kayak in the water in front of the rental building until we get there to meet you (around noon).
To join the group everyone must have a LIFE JACKET with them.
The lake is usually very calm with few waves, but if you join this group you canoe/kayak/paddleboard at your own risk.
The event will be cancelled if it rains heavily or is very windy.
All our meetups have a minimum of 5 in order to run. Please change your RSVP if you are not able to make it for any reason.by
