Big River Float 3 miles: Thunderbird Lodge at Washington State Park

Big River is a tributary of the Meramec River, with scenic bluffs and plenty of gravel bars along the way during normal river levels. Make your reservation before RSVPing to this event.

Current on the Big River during normal river levels generally moves at about 2-3 miles an hour.

Watercraft rentals are operated by the park concession, BA Services Inc. To make a reservation or for more information about the concession facilities, visit their website or call 636-586-2995. Reservations are made on a first come basis.

Rentals include life jacket and shuttle transportation from the Big River Day Use Area beach where the crew will pick us up and transport our gear to the put in spot and get us going on the water.

• 8:30 AM CHECK IN at Thunderbird Lodge. The Thunderbird Lodge is about an hour drive from St. Louis.

BRING: Beverages and food for yourself, bungee cords, a waterproof container to keep personal items safe and dry (keys, phone, etc.).

If you are late for your shuttle time you will be put on the next available shuttle after that time slot is filled and available seating for your party. not guaranteed you'll be put on the next available shuttle.

The bus will depart at the time of your booking.
All floaters must be off the river by 6PM. SHARP Additional fees applied after 6pm $75.00 the first 1/2 hour and $75 every half hour after the initial 30min.
