This is not a beginner’s hike. There is an elevation gain of 918 feet. The trail is not well marked. There is potential scrambling over rocks and we will be exploring via bushwhacking.

Parking at the trailhead is very limited. Given this limitation we will meet at the Walmart in Fredericktown to consolidate to minimize the number of spaces needed at the trailhead.

Note Change: We will start at Lower Rock Creek Canyon Trail, which is a 4.5-5.0 mile out and back. We will then drive to Black Mountain Trailhead, (limited parking). This trail involves scrambling up and over rocks and small streams bushwhacking to rock ledge overlook.
