Anne Lister’s Walk

Details
Step into the world of Anne Lister on this 5½-mile circular walk through the scenic Shibden Valley, just outside Halifax. Inspired by the life and legacy of the 19th-century diarist and landowner, the route explores key locations around her home, Shibden Hall, offering a fascinating glimpse into her extraordinary story.
Along the way, enjoy a relaxing stop at the charming Shibden Mill Inn, perfect for a coffee. The walk is dog-friendly, though leads may be needed at certain points. Please note that parts of the path may be muddy or slippery depending on weather conditions—an updated route check will be carried out closer to the date.
