Begin with a talk on moths by Chelsea Gottfried, followed by mothing in this biological hotspot and Jim McCormac and Chelsea Gottfied, authors of Gardening for Moths
Discover the amazing world of moths with Jim McCormac and Chelsea Gottfried, co-authors of "Gardening for Moths." Following their presentation, we'll search for caterpillars and visit multiple moth stations for up close views of these unique nocturnal creatures.

Clear Creek Metro Park features 5,470 acres of woodland interspersed with blackhand sandstone cliffs, ravines and creeks and is home to more than 2,200 species of plants and animals. Forested areas range from Canadian hemlocks and ferns, to oak and hickory, to Ohio’s last remaining colonies of rhododendron. Home to Ohio’s largest state nature preserve.
Weather plays an important part when it comes to mothing. As a general rule, moths like warm and dark nights. The darker and warmer the night, the more moths you will see.
Due to Columbus Metro Park rules, the moth night has to officially end at midnight.
