Kava: A Sacred Plant Meditation & Traditional Ceremony with Mama Agape (Jenny)
Details
Kava is an ancient ceremonial plant ally known for its ability to calm the nervous system, quiet mental chatter, and gently guide the body into a state of grounded presence.
This offering is a reverent ceremonial experience, weaving guided meditation with a traditionally held Kava ceremony—honoring both the spirit of the plant and the sacred container that allows it to work slowly, safely, and effectively.
This is not a casual tasting.
And it is not a typical meditation class.
It is a ceremonial space designed for regulation, connection, and deep inner stillness.
🌿 The Ceremony Experience
We begin by opening the space ceremonially—grounding the body, setting intention, and consecrating the room. Participants are gently guided into breath and body awareness to prepare the nervous system and establish a respectful relationship with the plant.
Kava is then introduced and shared within its traditional ceremonial context, held with intention and care. As the medicine settles, you’ll be guided into a meditative journey that supports deep relaxation, heart-centered awareness, and present-moment clarity.
Silence, soft guidance, and somatic awareness are woven together—allowing the effects of the plant to be felt naturally, without striving or force.
🌱 Honoring Traditional Kava Ceremony Elements
Throughout the evening, we honor the lineage and wisdom of Kava through:
• Intentional preparation and offering
• Communal holding of the ceremonial container
• Reverent pacing and presence
• Inward listening and embodied awareness
• Gentle integration and closing
Rather than separating ceremony and meditation, the two are braided together.
The plant becomes the anchor.
The meditation becomes the pathway.
The ceremony becomes the container that allows both to unfold safely and intentionally.
✨ Why This Practice Is Supportive
This ceremony supports:
• Nervous system regulation
• Emotional grounding
• Mental quiet
• A felt sense of safety in the body
It is especially nourishing for those who feel overstimulated, mentally overactive, emotionally depleted, or disconnected from their physical presence.
This is a space for slowing down.
For listening instead of fixing.
For allowing the body to remember how to rest.
Participants are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early, wear comfortable clothing, and bring a journal if they wish. No prior experience with Kava or meditation is required. Kava is best consumed on an empty stomach to feel its full effects, you should wait at least 3+ hours after your last meal before drinking.
This offering is held with deep care, intention, and respect for the lineage of the plant.
🌿 Kava, when held properly, is not an escape.
✨ It is a return.
