What we’re about
We are mostly Singles 20s - 60s looking for new friends for walks, coffee, pub lunches, chats, days out, camping trips, and other outdoor activities in and around Lincolnshire.
We try and offer various walks and outdoor activities for all abilities to promote positive physical and mental wellbeing. Subs are £1 payable to the host for each event attended, which goes towards the costs for running the group page and planning future events. Any excess is used to buy raffle prizes for a quarterly prize draw or donated to a charity supported by the host who is transparent with this.
Members should have a recent face picture on their profile so that we can identify them if they are new to the group.

See all- A coastal walk from Sandsend to StaithesSandsend Car Park, Whitby
We take the Cleveland Way north from Sandsend, a charming village with a beautiful sandy beach, along the clifftops for amazing sea views, to Runswick Bay, where we will stop for refreshments and a spot of lunch. This part of the trail is relatively easy, with gentle undulations and well-defined paths.
We then continue on the Cleveland Way path across the clifftops to Staithes, passing Kettleness beach along the way. Kettleness itself is a small hamlet with a dramatic cliff-top setting.
There is a descent through woodlands into the village of Staithes - a village steeped in history and once home to the famous explorer Captain James Cook. You are then free to explore the village or have a well earned drink!
This scenic route offers stunning coastal views and is part of the National Trails network. It requires a moderate level of fitness.
The walk is approximately 14 km (around 8.7 miles) with an elevation gain of about 400 meters (1,312 feet) and takes about 4 hours.
The trail is well-marked, but weather conditions can change rapidly, so be prepared with appropriate gear. There is a direct bus (X4, X4a) from Staithes to Sandsend departing from Captain Cooks Close and arriving at Hotel & Garage. Services depart every 30 minutes, and operate every day. The journey takes approximately 18 min and costs £3.
There is both on street parking and a car park at Sandsend (£7.90 for 24 hours). - Sandsend, Lythe, Mulgrave Wood and Castle CircuitSandsend Car Park, Whitby
We start again at Sandsend before following East Bow Beck through Mulgrave Woods, a dense forest area filled with ancient trees, ferns, and a variety of wildlife. The initial part of the trail is relatively flat to the castle ruins dating back to the 13th century. Continuing on, the trail begins to ascend, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Around the 4 km (2.5 miles) mark, we reach the highest point of the trail, where there are breathtaking views of the North Sea and the rolling hills of North Yorkshire.
We then head across the fields to the villages of West Barnby and Lythe via Barnby Woods before returning via the coastal path to Sandsend.
This is a 6 1/2 mile circular route which should take us about 2 1/2 hours and is graded easy to moderate. There are toilets at the start of the walk but none on route.
I plan on staying for Sunday lunch at The Bridge Inn in Ruswarp (dog friendly), just a short (3 miles) drive away. The address is High St, Ruswarp, Whitby, YO21 1NJ.
