SF Music Day 2025
Details
SF Music Day! An annual event we've been to for many years. New music, emerging groups, approx. 45 min. performances, all day on 4 stages, starts at 12:00. You’re either walking quickly from stage to stage or just camping-out at one stage to relax. It's essentially a jazz-classical-new music festival.
Tough to host but to get started let's meet for a quick bite/brew at Peet's Coffee, 601 Van Ness Ave., Opera Plaza building, 10:45. We'll discuss the interesting performers and schedule. 11:45 walk to the venues to open Music Day at 12:00/12:30. Afterwards, we usually form smaller groups per interest. Link to schedule:

What standouts out to me in the schedule is Ben Goldberg's recognition of Rob Reich, who passed away earlier this year. It's been 4 months and Ben Goldberg's the first to honor this Bay Area genius.
A change from the past is SF Music Day is there is a charge of $23 per ticket (no senior discount) and you must have a ticket to get in. I think it's worth it if you stay most of the day.

Reminder, meetup is a social organization not an activity calendar. Please don't RSVP unless you plan to meet members at Peet's and see the performances with the group. After a few performances the group tends to break apart as the day gets long and interests diverge but that’s okay.
Pre-concert meetup: Peet's Coffee, 601 Van Ness Ave., Opera Plaza building, 2 blocks from venue. You can spend an hour there for a pastry, coffee/tea or just stop by for a few minutes to chat. If your plans change, please change your status by selecting Edit ESVP at bottom of meetup page.
