Singles, Self-Defense Class for Real Life: Build Confidence & Practical Skills!

Singles, Join us for a coed singles self-defense class, limited to 30 singles, designed to build confidence, awareness, and empower yourself with practical techniques in a safe, social setting.
You can’t put a price on your safety—but this class is only $30 for 3 hours.
We will discuss:

  • Assault Prevention
  • Predator Behavior
  • Situational Awareness
  • Personal Safety.

You’ll learn and practice practical physical techniques including:

  • Basic strikes and kicks
  • Escapes from common grabs
  • Ground defense techniques

All movements are simple, effective, and adaptable for all fitness levels. We encourage questions throughout and will wrap up with “what if” scenario discussions to reinforce your skills in real-world situations.
This is a supportive, coed environment where everyone is welcome. They will tailor the class to fit the comfort and abilities of our group—ensuring a safe space for learning, empowerment, and connection.

How to pay:
1. When you RSVP, payment is required to secure your spot. Please do not sign up and not make payment.
2. Make your $30 payment thru Venmo. Margaret Lambe@Margaret-Schulz. Once payment is made, please text me at 505-470-7374 and I will flag you as "paid" on your RSVP.
3. For just $30, you’ll gain skills that could last a lifetime!

Singles should wear loose, comfortable clothing you can move in. Athletic wear works well. We will be on the floor (on mats) for part of the class. No jewelry or anything that can get caught and pulled.

Class is taught by 2 experts in the field of self defense:
Senior Master Henry "Hank" Minitrez, 7th Degree Black Belt
- Two decades teaching women's self-defense/street smart self-defense after becoming a "girl dad."
- Daughter Lyndy is now a 3rd Degree black belt preparing for her master's exam under dad's tutelage
- Earned his yellow belt in 1986 in Socorro, NM at Cha-Guerra School of Self Defense.
- Earned the first of four black belts in 1994, Berlin Germany in the military.
- Began teaching in 2004 in one of the largest schools in the Washington D.C. area.
- Nominated as Black Belt Magazine’s Instructor of the Year - 2008.
- TigerDen Martial Arts Instructor of the year 2009
- Action Martial Arts Hall of Honor Ambassador of Martial Arts award - 2009
- Twice featured in TKD Times Magazine - 2015.
- International Association of Martial Artists Hall of Honor Inductee - 2018
- World Karate Union Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award - 2023
- Action Martial Arts Hall of Honor Esteemed Elite Warrior Award - 2024
- Golden Gate Hall of Honor Tae Kwon Do Master of the Year - 2024
- Silver Lifetime Achievement for 40 years in the martial arts, 2025.
Hellen Adcock:
Training in martial arts since 2017, earned black belt in 2021, and has been teaching martial arts since 2021. I started teaching self defense with Master Hank about a year ago, and I LOVE IT.

  • Directions to the fitness center at SFCC
    Location: aerobics/dance room at the Fitness Center at SFCC.
  • Enter the SFCC compound at the main entrance.
  • Take a right a the first turnabout and go past the Kids Campus, on the right.
  • Continue driving past the Automotive Technologies Center (ATC), on the right.
  • Park in the large parking lot on the right.
  • The William C. Witter Fitness Education Center is the largest building on the right past the parking lot. If you get to the stop sign, you will be right in front of it.
