Tim’s lost river walks : the new river
Details
A brand new lost river walk with Tim. This is the New River
But it’s a bit if a misnomer as it’s not a river nor is it new! Instead it was built over 400 years ago to supply fresh water to Londoners from the unpolluted springs of Hertfordshire
In this walk we’ll track the New River from its ancient end in Islington through leafy squares to Canonbury station.
It’s an extraordinary story of human ingenuity which continues to be relevant as it is still supplying us with fresh water today.
We meet in the cafe at sadlers wells theatre at 1.15 to start walking at 1.30. Cost is £12 payable through card, cash or PayPal.
We end a couple of hours later at Canonbury station for overground trains.
