Description: This is one of the "BIG DOGS" in Hong Kong. If you've ever wanted to challenge yourself...this is it. As you may have guessed, this path resembles the jagged teeth in a dog's mouth where you'll find yourself going left and right and up and down. If this is your thing, sign up and see you at the meeting point.

If you've made it this far keep reading: I've planned three different options where there's a path that is "easier" at 9 km, a "moderate" at 11.5 km and a more "difficult" at 16 km. Can't decide? Start with Option 1 and then when the time comes to continue forward in the hike you can decide if you want to choose Option 2 or 3.

Some highlights: Incredible views abound! From various points you'll see Lantau Island with its beautiful hills, beaches, and some of Hong Kong's surrounding islands. If you choose to proceed with options 2 and 3, then you'll also get to experience hiking up to Lantau Peak at 934 m.

Bragging Rights: You'll get bragging rights that only a small number of the population can share. Imagine: You're at a social event with your family and friends and you pull this little hiking event out of your pocket. That's right: OOOH and AAAH is what you'll get. WOOF!

What to bring:

  • 3-4 liters of water
  • Snacks to eat along the way (sandwich, fruits, nuts, etc)
  • Hiking shoes with good support
  • Gloves (trust me on this one)
  • Sunglasses
  • Headgear (cap/hat)
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • In case of Rain: plan accordingly

Toilets: There are some toilets here and there. I do not know how many there are or if they will be in service. You might need to get creative : )

Stores: There are stores at the start and end of the trails. It is best to come prepared with food and water.

Meeting Point: Central Pier 6 to Mui Wo

Time: The ferry leaves at 9:50 am SHARP! Please arrive early to arrive on time.

IMPORTANT: Out of respect to the members that arrive on time, we will not be able to wait for you if you miss the ferry. Should you miss the ferry, I will no longer be answering phone calls or responding to messages as I need to give me time and attention to those that have arrived on time.
