What we’re about
We're here to share and support volunteer activities and ideas, and organize volunteer groups around community needs. This group is more like an announcement board for people looking to volunteer together or with other organizations. We are not affiliated with any other organization. Some of the events require you to register with the organization we'll be serving with; others you can just show up. Long term goal: Adopt A Highway/Roadway (or maybe a stream)! Please reach out with ideas you might have.

Habitat for Humanity Charlotte has 6 spots for us to help unload donated household items, organize, and clean the donations, place the items on the ReStore sales floor, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, and assist customers with carry-outs after purchase.
No experience necessary but participants must be at least 16 years old. Closed-toed shoes and shirts with sleeves are required. Habitat recommends wearing clothes you do not mind getting dirty or dusty.

STEP 1. Go to Habitat Charlotte's Group Shift Search:

STEP 2: In the "Search by Group Number" box, enter 7663 and click "Search"
STEP 3: "Lousy Bunch of Do-gooders" should appear. Select the box next to our group name; click “Select”
STEP 4: On the Volunteer Group Shift Search page, click “Search” and the team’s shifts will appear. Choose the May 17 shift and click "Select"
STEP 5: You will be prompted to create a new account by clicking “New User” or to login into your existing account.After completing the registration, the shift and details will appear, and an automated confirmation email will be sent you.

6 Volunteers are needed to assist with food prep, serving food, and cleaning.
Just come with a smile, your serving heat, and some wit as there may be a few jokes cracked here or there from the residents.We have limited space to work, so we will not need more than 6 people to volunteer. Please register only if you plan on attending the event.

Charlotte, NC 28206 - Make Blessing Bags (part of Stolen Lunches ministries)McCrorey YMCA, Charlotte, NC
Join Stolen Lunches ministry on the first Saturday of the month to make Give Blessing Bags. These bags are filled with nonperishable items, hygiene products, and notes of encouragement and offered to people who live on the streets in Charlotte.
If you are bringing a donation, please sign up for a slot for requested items on Give Blessing Bags' Sign Up Genius site. You can drop off donated items, or stay and help make bags. But please register on the Sign Up Genius site so that organizers can plan accordingly.
This is a family-friendly activity, so feel free to bring kids! Folks are super friendly so don't be shy about asking questions and jumping in. Blessing Bags sets up in the YMCA's back gym. It's best to park at the far end of the lot and follow people up the back path.
