The Sober Curious Happy Hour: An addiction expert’s free weekly drop-in Webinar
Details
Do you question your relationship with alcohol in quiet moments?
Do you wonder how to know when drinking becomes a “problem?”
Do you feel healthier or more present when you’re not drinking—and want support exploring that?
Do you crave real connection beyond small talk and the buzz?
Then this group is for you….
Join this free weekly virtual drop-in Webinar with a sober, trained addiction expert passionate about helping people understand their relationship to drinking.
(I'm offering this event in my Lovitation MeetUp as an exploration of drinking's potential impacts on relationships.)
[Bonus: I know there can be stigma around this topic so I've made your participation anonymous by choosing a Webinar format -- I'm the only one on screen, I can see attendees but you don't see each other. And you can choose an anonymous name for yourself when you sign onto the Webinar platform to conceal your identity in the chat.]
What to Expect:
Each week, I'll start by explaining a different sobriety-related topic such as the following examples...
- Defining what alcoholism really means
- How to know where you are on the spectrum of alcohol use versus abuse vs. dependency and what to do about it
- Hidden ways alcohol can impact different areas of our lives without us knowing it
- Alcoholism and sobriety myths and misconceptions
- Why honesty with yourself is critical and how to cultivate it without BS-ing yourself
- Common defenses like denial/minimizing/rationalizing
- The many kinds of drinkers out there
- Why we drink so much/how some are born and raised prone to it
- How sober people actually have fun and socialize without drinking
- Who are you with and without alcohol?
- Common internal and external triggers for binge drinking
- Tips for decreasing drinking temptations
- How to stop drinking for good if you want to
- Who can successfully moderate or cut back and who can't
While presenting on the topic, I keep the chat open for your comments on what you might relate to, then invite general Q&A where you can ask anything on the topic or alcohol/sobriety-related.
No judgement. No labels. Just some honest exploration together. Come once, come weekly, no commitment required.
I welcome all sober-curious people to come be kind, honest, vulnerable, authentic, supportive, safe, inclusive, and accepting without giving advice.
The power of a group is simply sharing your own experience that helps everyone take an honest, closer look at their drinking.
Please register in advance of any week you choose to attend. Note: I've turned off the list so only I can see attendees names.
