THE LOST CAVE OF PEARTREE POINT !
Details
⭐️ Only 4 miles at most over maybe 4 / 5 hours - we explore as group and stop often..
⭐️ Chatted once to local on the beach here who nothing about the 30 foot long cave behind him !
⭐️ Only accessible on quite low tides when theres no onshore wind, so its not always possible to go in but well worth a try !
⭐️⭐️ You need hiking boots / super wellies - its a ROCKY CLAMBER down onto the shingle shore needing team effort - not a problem providing you are reasonably fit.,,,and we help each other.
⭐️ Seals can be seen on islands from the grassy turf at the top, so if you cant / dont want to go down to the beach theres still plenty to see....
⭐️ Meet at 10 -30am in Start Point car park which is a FIVER ⭐️ Allow time through lanes, time and tide waits for no one and the window if its there for getting in the cave is about 30 min.....
⭐️ The arch here is amazing - it might go dry and you can walk under it - walls are colourful from marine life....
⭐️ If theres interest I will ID botany 🌱 on way down as well as outlining the sea level changes evident along the coastline.....just round corner from Torcross ! Again theres some great marine biology 🦀 on the shore if people are interested.
⭐️ The shingle shore is a maze of channels - there is NO access to the large island where the seals pull out...
⭐️ Dogs welcome but like my 2 very friendly bearded collies 🐕 🐕 they must be on leads - there are cattle on the way down.
⭐️ I might be able to offer car share in 7 seater- live Bere Alston, so Roborough, Estover, Ivybridge, Kingsbridge route. "Must like dogs" 🐕🐕 - as mine will like you for sure !🤣
⭐️⭐️ Needs fine day - down on the shore its a walk on the wild side needing care - rearrange if bad weather.
