El Tlacoyo is one of those mythological, hidden gems that you've heard rumors about, but haven't been able to locate!
Well, we have! and we're hosting a special Mexican Brunch featuring delicious & rare specialties unavailable elsewhere in The Valley! Items reflect traditional ingredients & preparations from the Central State of Hidalgo, but also include other regional classics.
El Tlacoyo is a small family-run restaurant. In addition to a unique & extensive regular menu, on weekends, it offers Lamb BBQ w/ Consommé (Barbacoa de Borrego) - as long as the precious supply lasts! Other delicacies include squash blossoms, huitlacoche (corn fungus!), cactus, mushrooms, offal(!), exotic soups, and other antojitos (snacks). Of course, there's also a long list of the familiar, usual suspects - even the eponymous tlacoyos! The food is not necessarily hot & spicy...
