It has been pointed out to me that Meetup inserted an address of 4815 Fox Sparrow Rd. into the invitations. This address is not correct. It is close, but not exactly right. The actual address is 8038 Bayou Gulch Road. The pin on the location map below is accurate, or just follow my directions in the next paragraph.
We will meet at the Bayou Gulch/Two Bridges Open Space Parking Lot, between the towns of Parker and Franktown, in Douglas County. The lot is 1.6 miles east of Parker Road on Bayou Gulch Road. It's about 1.4 miles east of Ponderosa high School, about .4 mile east of the intersection of Bayou Gulch Rd. and Fox Sparrow Rd. There are 2 signs. A small sign on Bayou Gulch Rd. points to the lot and says "Two Bridges Open Space." A larger sheet metal sign says "Bayou Gulch Open Space." I think there are 2 separate pieces of open space land that happen to come together right at the parking lot. Bayou Gulch Regional Park is nearby but not exactly the same place. The pinned location below has the pin in the correct place, even though the listed location is the park, which is slightly different.
I will be in the lot about 9:15 and begin the hike at 9:30. Look for my gold Toyota Corolla. There are multiple trails in the open space. The plan is to hike about 5 or 6 miles. The area is rather flat. The hike will have almost no elevation gain.
