About us
This is an inclusive group for mountain bikers of all ages, races, genders, and shapes/sizes. Group rides will take place at various Front Range locations, primarily on weekdays. All rides are no-drop, meaning no one is left behind, unless some faster riders drop the rest of us. Rides will be suited to adventurous beginner and up skill levels. The general riding pace will be relaxed: no hard-core hammering on the flats. E-bikes are welcome on the trails that allow them; we will comply with all local regulations. Other planned activities include Winter Park/Mary Jane ski days, hikes, and maybe even some road bike rides. Please join us!

Sandstone Ranch and Spruce Mountain Beginner Rides
Sandstone Ranch Open Space, 9605 S Perry Park Rd, Larkspur, CO, USI'm scouting for front range beginner mountain bike trails. Please join me while I check out Sandstone Ranch in Larkspur, rated as Green, and then Spruce Mountain Open Space nearby, rated Blue. Either one of these alone would be too short of a ride, so we'll ride Sandstone and then drive 10 minutes to Spruce. Class 1 e-bikes are allowed on this ride. I will be on an analog bike. This will be a no-drop ride, unless a faster rider drops the rest of us.
This is a departure from my usual practice of riding intermediate trails that I know well. I have hiked but not ridden either one of these places, so there may be some improvisation on the day. Per MTB Project, Sandstone is about 6 miles and Spruce is about 4. The two may total as much as 1200 feet of climbing. Dining opportunities in this area are limited, so bring a chair and a snack if you like for after the Spruce Mountain ride.
For Sandstone, see https://www.mtbproject.com/directory/8024571/sandstone-ranch-open-space . For Spruce, see https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/1031082/spruce-mountain-loop . Google directions for Sandstone stop about 500 feet short of the right turn from CO 105E into the parking lot; there's a sign.
Sandstone Ranch has nice views, and per the photo, Spruce Mountain is especially scenic. Why am I looking for beginner trails? For a single guy, that's not hard to figure out: cherchez la femme 😉. My cell is 303-619-7486.
