QUESTIONS

"How much should immigrants take on Aussie values?"

It may be helpful for this practical question to be considered as reflecting three broader philosophical questions:

#1 - What are a nation's values?
#2 - Is it right to expect others to adopt a nation's values? (cf human rights)
#3 - What means might be legitimately used to promote cultural integration, eg: model, educate, encourage (reward), endorse, enforce (regulation, punishment), etc?

(By the way, Australia was very active in developing the UDHR and actively condemns others for violating human rights, but is conspicuous as the only western liberal democracy without its own domestic bill of rights: https://www.internationalaffairs.org.au/australianoutlook/the-universal-declaration-of-human-rights-at-70-protection-of-human-rights-in-australia/)
