Respect
Respect is recognizing another's inherent worth and dignity, treating them as equals, valuing their feelings and autonomy, and showing regard for their abilities,

Self-respect is a deep, internal valuation of your own worth, character, and dignity and it is independent of achievements or others' opinions,

There are four types of respect:
Not earned
Inherent respect for individuals
Positions of authority
Earned respect
Respect for character
Respect for service, contributions, achievements

QUESTIONS
Are you respectful of others and what gets in the way of being respectful?
How do you know when there is disrespect?
Is Welcome to Country mutually respectful?
Is affirmative action respectful?

How does respect affect relationships?
How does this relate to the Right and Left in politics?

Earning respect through outward wealth, assets, posturing?
Is patronising the opposite of respect?
Is patriarchy the opposite of respect?

How far ought we go in our respect of others?
How ought we address (and treat) others?'
Is respect meeting the preferences of others? Eg,
· is it ‘wrong’ to refuse to do an acknowledgement to country?
· is it ‘wrong’ if vegan & GF options are not available?
· is it wrong to address someone by the wrong name or title?
· is it wrong to use a person’s first name when they prefer you do not?
· is it wrong to misuse a person’s preferred personal pronouns – when ‘they’ are present? when ‘they’ are not present?
· is obligation the same as respect?
