Melanated Venture Scouts (MVS) is a youth program created to give Black and brown youth between the ages of 13-21 a space to grow through outdoor exploration, leadership development, and guided mentorship. MVS isn’t a one-day activity or a drop-off camp. It’s a structured, year-long program designed to build confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and connection to nature in a way that feels safe, supportive, and empowering.
To kick things off, we’re hosting an MVS Discovery Day an introduction to the program for both youth and parents/guardians.
This event is a chance to:
• Learn what MVS is and how it works
• Meet the leaders and mentors
• See what youth will experience in the program
• Ask questions and get clarity
• Let youth try a mini hands-on activity
No prior camping or outdoor experience is needed. Just curiosity and an open mind.
If you’ve been looking for something more meaningful than “just another activity” for your teen or young adult, this is your invitation.
