SelectorsHub : An Innovation for all the unsolved XPath & Selectors problems

Details

Speaker
Sanjay Kumar :
Inventor & creator of SelectorsHub, TestCase Studio and ChroPath.

Details :
Do you know that DevTools doesn't give the right information about XPath & Selectors? Today it's almost impossible to verify selectors for shadow dom & nested shadow dom and nested iframes. Testers have long suffered through this during UI automation. Also we considered DevTools as a standard solution for locators but do you know that DevTools doesn't generate correct selectors for all the WebElements.
There are many dynamic invisible dropdowns which take a very long time to inspect & in some cases it's impossible. There is no platform to debug XPath & CSS Selectors which can provide the information like what's wrong in selectors. And we all lived with these problems and we are living with them.

Sanjay always found everyone in our industry saying that we should learn to write our own XPath & Selectors but we never discussed where to write and where to learn and we ended up writing XPath in DevTools and learned many misconceptions and lived with the myths. But then one day he found that whatever we are doing is not correct and immediately started working on these problems and was able to solve most of them and continuously working to solve every unsolved selectors problem.

In this talk, he will show how most of us lived with these problems and are still doing things in the wrong way. he will discuss how we can use SelectorsHub and get better at locating Xpath and CSS Selectors which testers can use as part of our UI automation strategy & also show how to solved the common problems with location strategies and how he made it possible to get necessary feedback in just a few seconds which were taking hours and he will present how this innovative solution can make everyone an expert in XPath & Selectors.

Attendees will be saving at least 80-90% time which they spent today in writing locators without compromising learning skills.

Key takeaways :

  • Myths and misconceptions about XPath & Selectors.
  • Basic concepts of writing & verifying XPath & Selectors.
  • How to use this feedback as part of our UI automation strategy
