Join us for the return of the Melbourne Cloud Platform Community! After a quiet period, we’re excited to kick off the new year with a panel discussion on Platform Engineering.

Platform Engineering has emerged as one of the hottest topics in tech, but what does it truly mean? How does it differ from familiar concepts like DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)? Is it just about Kubernetes and building Internal Developer Platforms, or does it go deeper?

Join us for an engaging discussion with three Platform Engineering leaders who will unpack the term, explore its nuances, and share practical insights into the tools, practices, and philosophies that define this growing discipline. Whether you’re curious about its potential or looking to adopt it in your organization, this session will provide clarity and inspiration.

Panellists:

• m Brennan - Group Owner for Telstra's Developer eXperience platforms. m has 22 years of experience as a software engineer, architect, and (for the past 6 years) a technology leader building and transforming tech-for-tech platforms and the teams that own and operate them.
• Shivansh Sharma - An accomplished technology leader with over 17 years of experience in Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability, and automation. Currently Senior Engineering Manager at Tabcorp, leading the Platform and Reliability Engineering teams.
• Vanessa Nimmo - After 20 years in music performance and teaching, Vanessa transitioned into the world of code 7 years ago. A passion for securing software and infrastructure without slowing down developers has seen her move through devops, devsecops, and platform engineering spaces, and she is now the Platform Engineering Manager at Littlepay.
