## Talks

Zenab Bohra- Introduction to Functional Programming in Kotlin

This is a beginner friendly session for anyone interested in learning about the basics of FP in Kotlin.
Currently at Cash my team uses a library called Arrow for doing Typed Functional Programming in Kotlin. In this session we will run through some examples of Arrow types, look at when to use them and go through some best practices.

Zenab is a developer at Cash with a passion for solving world’s problems using Tech, developing novel Crypto products, whacky ideas and horse back riding.

Charles Korn - Embedding Golang in a Kotlin app: how to do it and why you shouldn't

In this talk, we'll go on a journey from the safe waters of Kotlin, through the murky depths of C and out to the bay of Golang (and back again). And as we venture through this tortured metaphor, I'll discuss how to interoperate with native code from a Kotlin/JVM app, share some real-world experience with Kotlin/Native, try to justify why I even attempted to do this and explain why you almost certainly shouldn't try to mix Kotlin and Golang yourself.

Charles is a lead developer and consultant at Thoughtworks in Melbourne. He spends his time helping teams solve meaty technical problems, with a particular interest in developer experience, large-scale systems and cloud-native infrastructure.

He’s the maintainer of a number of open source projects, including Kaml, which adds YAML support to kotlinx.serialization, and Batect, a tool built on top of Docker that makes it easy to quickly and consistently run your development and testing tasks everywhere.
