Psychedelics have moved from the counterculture into mainstream conversation.

Public figures have brought discussions about psychedelics, consciousness, trauma, healing, connection and the nature of the self to huge audiences.

At the same time, psychedelic research has returned to major universities, and psychedelic-assisted therapy has begun entering legal medical practice in Australia under limited and strictly controlled circumstances.

But beyond the podcasts, research and debate is a more personal question:
What actually happens after a powerful psychedelic experience?

For some people, an experience can change the way they think about themselves, their relationships, their past, spirituality or even the nature of reality. It can bring insight and connection — but it can also leave questions that aren’t particularly easy to discuss in everyday life.

We’ll meet casually at Fitzroy Gardens in East Melbourne for brunch and an informal outdoor gathering. There’s no presentation, no prescribed philosophy and no fixed agenda.

We might talk about:

  • psychedelic experiences and what people have taken from them
  • consciousness and the sense of self
  • trauma, grief and emotional healing
  • connection and relationships
  • spirituality and mystical experiences
  • difficult or confusing experiences
  • integrating insights into ordinary life
  • psychedelic research and therapy
  • the ideas being discussed by researchers, clinicians, podcasters and other public voices

Bring your own brunch, water, chair or picnic rug and anything else you need to be comfortable outdoors.
