Canterbury - CBD loop (40km 300m ele)

Hi,
Join us for a casual ride out of Canterbury station for a clockwise loop up to near the CBD, using parts of the Anniversary Trail, Gardiners Creek Trail, Capital City Trail and Darebin Creek Trail!
We will stop at KereKere café about halfway (20km) for a short break and refreshments. (Please note this is within Fitzroy Gardens which I believe is a strict no cycling zone, so we will have to push the bikes a short distance from the trail up to the cafe)
There will be some sections of roads, particularly after the cafe stop to get through the edge of the CBD up to the Northern end of CBD to re-join the CCT and then again from there heading East to pick up the Darebin. They are listed cycle ways though so some will have dedicated cycle lanes, and should be quiet being a Sunday morning!
Distance is getting up there with a small amount of climbing (300m) so have kept it as a beginner+ ride

We will kick off from Canterbury Railway Station. Meet outside Alleycat Cafe to roll out @ 9.15am. I'll be on a black Giant gravel bike, Dave on a grey Merida hybrid.

At the moment the forecast looks pretty good for winter! Mostly sunny highs of 17 degrees. Should already be double figures by the start time.

Spare tube, puncture kit, pump, basic tools - good to have with you.
Rain & warm gear (according to conditions)
Plenty of water for the distance especially if it's going to be hot! Always better to have too much than enough!
Check your app for any changes the night before, and on the day of the ride, as the ride may be cancelled in the event of extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
If you realise you cannot make it to the ride please change your RSVP to 'NO' immediately even if you are still on the Waitlist.

Please just ride with some courtesy, use your bell/call out when required passing people, single file on narrow sections, blind corners etc just common sense.
