Help save the Southern Sea by joining a Paddle out in Torquay this Saturday…. and please send a submission against new Oil and Gas project

We’ll meet up at 945am at Torquay beach front and join the community in the Paddle out!
Theres a chance I maybe personally helping the Surfrider team with the event (on land or sea), so depending on where I am, I might meet people at 945 and then dash off (so people might have to view this as a bit of a self guided meetup!).

Together as a community of ocean lovers and surfers, we will be gathering and paddling out against the Government's new plans for gas exploration off the Victorian coasts.

Join us at Front Beach Torquay at 10 am. Come along for a swim or paddle and have your say for the Southern Seas.

The Federal Government has opened approximately 2.5 million hectares of waters offshore Victoria and Tasmania to new gas exploration under the 2025 Otway Basin acreage release. The current release effectively reopens oceans that communities came together to protect just 14 months ago.

This is no longer just about stopping one project; it is about drawing a line, protecting a living ocean, and honouring our responsibility to future generations who deserve a Southern Ocean that is alive, thriving, and free from industrial harm.
