Symfony2 Code Jam Session

Details

Symfony2 Topic: TBD

Objective:

To work on a simple dummy project that shows different aspects of the Symfony2 framework in action.

This is not a formal presentation, but a chance for developers to get together and kick into some code.

We will use the time as a small team (limited spots) where we will go through aspects of an application build at pace, to cover off different capabilities of the framework. People attending can come along and follow on screen. We are hoping to keep it short and intimate, so that it provides enough scope for people to get involved and ask questions as we go.

We will be providing some beer and soft-drink, as well as a few pizzas to keep the hunger at bay.

What to bring:

A Laptop (if you want), with the correct LAMP environment running (please make sure your development environment can run Symfony2 already, we won't have time to setup environments on the night) and an IDE, like maybe PHPStorm/Eclipse.

Pre-download Symfony2 (without vendors) on the day please :-)

Who should attend:

Those interested in learning or playing around with Symfony2. Those who want to get involved with other Symfony2 developers.

You may have downloaded the framework or may be fairly new to Symfony2. You may just want to watch a simple run-through of building out an application in Symfony2. We are expecting those attending understand the concepts of: MVC, PHP5.3 and ORM.

Format:

Small and informal - chances are it will be a small team of developers with laptops and a presenter that will perform the coding. We will have some people walking around assisting developers as well.
