Workshop: Digging Deeper Into Digital Sustainability (Capacity Limited)

Details
A workshop to be led by KB Buzza, Product Manager at Climate Zero (LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kbbuzza).
What is this about?
This is an exciting hands-on workshop where KB will guide us in working in groups to analyse and propose how we could redesign several digital products to embed the six principles of the Green Software Foundations course.
At Climate Action Week Sydney 2025, held in March, the community was asked a question: Is digital the new plastic pollution?
As digital practitioners, we transform code into masterpieces and solve problems with our products. We are also responsible for understanding our environmental impact, with the internet projected to contribute 13% of the world’s carbon emissions by 2030.
As with many change initiatives, we have the answers to designing websites, applications, and an ICT industry that is both more efficient and uses less energy and materials. This can prevent tech giants from needing to build three new data centres a week and re-open nuclear plants in the USA to power them.
This will be a very hands-on workshop that requires some homework before the course to cover the basics:
PRE-WORK REQUIRED: Green Software Foundation Practitioner Course:

Limited to 20 people, we will work in groups and uncover new ideas as we apply and embed the six principles of the Green Software Foundations course.
