Friday Evening Social Ride — Capital City Trail Loop (30km)
Details
Wrap up the workweek with a relaxed evening ride around Melbourne’s inner-city rivers and trails.
This is a social, beginner-friendly cycling meetup following the Capital City Trail—mostly flat, scenic, and traffic-light on stress. The pace will be conversational rather than competitive, with plenty of chances to regroup and enjoy the ride.
Perfect if you want to move your body, clear your head, and ease into the weekend without committing your whole evening.
Route
We’ll ride a section of the Capital City Trail, looping along the Yarra and inner suburbs.
- Mostly off-road shared paths
- Flat to gently rolling
- Scenic city + river views
- No racing, no drop policy

- Afterwards — Optional café or casual food nearby for anyone keen to hang around
Who This Is For
- Casual riders and commuters
- People getting back into cycling
- Anyone who wants a low-pressure weekday activity
- You don’t need a fancy bike. Any road, hybrid, or gravel bike in safe working order is fine.
What to Bring
- Working bike + helmet
- Front & rear lights
- Water
- Weather-appropriate clothing
Notes
- This is a social ride, not a training session
- We’ll ride together at the pace of the slowest rider and regroup as needed
Meeting point: Under the Flinders Street Station clocks at 5:45 pm.
I’ll post a photo of myself here once I arrive. If you’re running late, please message me your ETA beforehand — we’ll wait briefly, but may need to roll out on time to keep the group moving.
