Tarot & the Wisdom Tradition

Join Laura Fitgerald as she gives an account of a tarot reading that grew out of a casual conversation about the cards with Stephen Fiyalko (President of the Melbourne Theosophical Society). Stephen suggested it might be interesting to see what Tarot had to say about the Melbourne Lodge and indeed the reading presented some powerful images to consider.

Laura will discuss and illustrate the concept of what Rachel Pollack refers to as a “Wisdom Reading”. In Rachel’s words: “The idea behind Wisdom Readings is really very simple. If we have this wonderful source of spiritual ideas and images, why should we only ask it personal questions, as if it was some sort of newspaper advice column? … The process of doing Wisdom Readings is exactly the same as any other. It’s only the subjects that are different.”

After a break for afternoon tea, there will be a Q & A session in which Laura will answer questions to the best of her ability and invite contributions from others who may be more au fait with Theosophical propositions and objects.
