Welcome to the Melbourne Recruitment Meetup - #melbrecmeetup

The recruitment industry has moved on from the days of recruiters being very insular and refusing to share IP for fear of losing some kind of competitive advantage. With the advancement of technology and thinking, the desire to be more collaborative is a lot more apparent.

We've set this group up in order to create and leverage a stronger, more collaborative talent community across Melbourne. It's mostly aimed at internal recruiters/talent managers and HR professionals but open to innovative agencies who are keen to contribute and evolve their own practices too. While also being able to come and meet and network with like-minded professionals. You'll also hear from recruitment leaders and influencers on a range of topics such as latest trends in the industry, new tools to try and other insights that will hopefully enable us all to be share knowledge in the hope we'll keep getting better at what we do. We want everyone to contribute to discussions, to endorse and challenge opinions while also sharing insights and innovative approaches to traditional challenges.

We're busy, talented people and can learn a lot from each other, so come along and let's discuss all things recruitment while enjoying ourselves in a fun, supportive environment. With beer/wine and pizza.

Your friendly Melbourne Recruitment Meetup is back – with a topic everyone talks about but with few getting it right: Employer Branding. Most HR & TA professionals will agree that investing in and promoting an employer brand is essential in today’s competitive candidate-driven market. However, the mistake that many still make is that they consider their employer brand as talent acquisition only. Though, the truth is that your brand can only work if it’s successful at every stage of the employee life cycle. So how can you champion the Employer Brand journey? Hear what our industry experts, Lucy Fisher from Rumblr and Simon McSorley from Crew Talent Advisory have to say. They’ll be joining us at WeWorks’s funky co-working space on Collins St to look beyond Talent Acquisition and talk about strategies and tools to achieve near-term and long-horizon success branding. About our speakers: Lucy is an employment branding expert and principal partner at Rumblr, an employment branding and marketing agency. Her current focus is on Diversity & Inclusion, with a specific focus on helping companies develop the processes and culture to achieve near-term and long-horizon success at gender equality across organisations. Simon has run recruitment agency businesses like Chandler Mcleod, Greythorn and Reed for over a decade and worked internally at Zendesk. To bring together the best of both worlds in, he has launched Crew Talent Advisory in 2018 where he helps organisations get recruitment right through a considered, insightful approach and a flexible and embedded model that clients can turn on and off as business needs demand.
