Activity
MelbURN is a community of professionals who program or are interested in R and its progress. We host talks and networking activities usually, the 1st Tuesday of every month. However for the month of November 2024, we are hosting it on the first Wednesday November 6, 2024, because Tuesday is Melbourne Cup Day - a holiday.

Presenter: Dr. Fei Tony Liu
Abstract: "Isolation Forest is a fast, simple, and highly effective algorithm for anomaly detection. In this talk, we will explore the foundational concepts and the evolution of anomaly detection techniques. We will then dive into recent advancements in 'Online Machine Learning,' where models continuously learn and adapt to changing data patterns, addressing concept drift — a critical aspect for MLOps. To conclude, we'll highlight practical R libraries you can use today to begin implementing anomaly detection in your projects."
