Canopy: Melbourne's Green Roof Forum - International Perspectives and Psychology

Canopy: Melbourne Green Roof Forum brings together people to share their passion, ideas and experience greening our cities through green roofs, walls and other green urban infrastructure.

Join us on a leafy rooftop for our next Canopy session. The City of Melbourne is teaming up with The University of Melbourne to bring you two exciting topics. Ralf, an international green roof expert from Zinco, Germany will be sharing his experiences from Europe and Kate, a University of Melbourne research fellow will be sharing the results of her PHD on the psychology of views to green roofs.

Who we will hear from on the night:

Ralf Walker, Zinco. Ralf Walker is a horticultural engineer with an in-depth knowledge of plants and soil sciences. He joined ZinCo in 2001 in their techincial department and worked on many green roofs projects. As Head of Research & Development he now leads the ZinCo-owned R&D workshop which includes rain-simulation, substrate analysis and growing chambers. Ralf is currently visiting Melbourne from Germany to share his knowledge with the University of Melbourne.

Kate Lee, University of Melbourne. Kate is a teaching and research fellow at the University of Melbourne, a member of the Green Infrastructure Research Group and a visiting academic in the Melbourne school of psychological sciences. Her research uses environmental, organisational, and cognitive psychology to investigate the links betweeen nature, wellbeing in cities and workplaces.

This Canopy event is proudly supported by the University of Melbourne's Green Infrastructure Research Group.
This group is a collaboration of scientists studying how to maximise the benefits plants provide to urban environments.
