About us
Everyone has interests or expertise in something that is of value to others. Do you want to share, learn, grow, and have a good time with an interesting and fun group of people who are at the same stage of life?
We’ll foster new social connections through recreational activities, learning opportunities, or community service, primarily on weekdays.
We might gather for happy hour, explore the high desert, run the rapids, hike/bike a foothill trail, tour a manufacturing company, or plan an overnight adventure.
Bring your ideas and interests and we'll help research and organize for the group.
We’ve earned this time — let’s make the most of it!

Science on Tap: Where Boise's Water Comes From...and Where it Goes
Oldspeak Book Beer Bar, 3640 W Chinden Blvd,, Garden City, ID, US***INFORMATION ONLY***
Where does Boise’s drinking water come from—and how does it get to my faucet?
Join us at Oldspeak, Garden City for an evening of conversation with two Boise-based BSU scientists who study water in the Treasure Valley. Together, they’ll trace Boise’s water story: how snow becomes our water supply, how it’s measured and managed, and how we shape its future.
This program will feature short talks followed by discussion, with plenty of time for questions.
Speakers
- Hans-Peter (HP) Marshall, Associate Professor Geosciences will explore how snowpack functions as Boise’s largest natural reservoir—and how scientists use radar, remote sensing, and field measurements to understand snow.
- Kendra Kaiser, Research Assistant Professor Geosciences will focus on what happens next: how water moves through watersheds, infrastructure, and human systems, and how data and modeling support water management in our communities.

Now that we've aided in rehabilitating the Valley Fire for over a full year, our attention is shifting to this momentarily overlooked segment of WMA.

Bring your own insulated work gloves, old ski gloves, or liner gloves to use with our used leather gloves.Plan to broadcast sagebrush seed using a handheld bag seeder with a cross-shoulder strap. We will try and accommodate with gentle terrain for volunteers that need it, to moderately steep terrain for those that are capable. No experience is required; a brief training tutorial will be provided by Fish and Game staff and volunteers. Expect the project to go into early afternoon.
