Newlands Forest Exploration 2*B*c

Come and explore Newlands Forest as we ramble around. We will head for the ruins of Paradise and then head towards the upper paths.

There are various hills to ascend, so you need to be reasonably hiking fit. We will also have a long midpoint break to enjoy our snacks at one of the many beautiful streams.

B: Medium with a number of gradients to ascend. 370M total Ascent
c: moderately fit

You do need a basic level of fitness due to the undulating terrain. Suitable for fit beginners.

As we will be entering the Kirstenbosch upper boundaries no dogs are authorized by Meridian Hiking Club to join the hike.

Bring water, snacks, hat, light jacket, R40 guest fee if not a paid-up Meridian Hiking Club member.
