UDF Writeback in Microsoft Fabric: Cool Concept or Complete Solution? - Matevz Javornik

User-Defined Functions (UDFs) in Microsoft Fabric open exciting new ways to capture and transform data—but how do they really compare to custom writeback visuals? In this session, we’ll break down what UDFs can (and can’t) do, highlight performance and governance considerations, and discuss when a specialized custom visual still makes all the difference for usability, security, and scalability.

Showcasing Fabric Studio - Gerhard Brueckl

In this session I will give you an introduction to the Visual Studio Code extension "Fabric Studio" which allows you to manage your Fabric environment directly from within VSCode. Leveraging the Fabric REST APIs you can easily browse through Fabric items and run various tasks. For not so common API calls there is also the ability to user VSCode notebooks offering intelli-sense and auto-complete from all existing API endpoints. It further allows you to modify existing items like semantic models, notebooks, pipelines, etc. in the VSCode IDE and publish your changes back to the Fabric service. These and a lot more features will be explained and shown in the session.
